This is my way to celebrate the best of British Design. After hours shopping and trend spotting I London I fell in Love with London. One of the instant icons of contemporary UK design, is the Jubilee needlepoint wall hanging, designed in 2002 by Vogue's fashion director Lucinda Chambers for The Rug Company. This is a complex (and entirely handmade) pompom-adorned piece, which contrasts the strong symbolism of the flag with flowers, butterflies and a sacred heart-style motif. And it takes three months to complete. Hand-finished in London, it highlights the appeal of inspirational, home-grown design and adds a little pomp to any home.
